DeVilbiss has introduced the GTi Pro, a totally new development in spray gun technology, delivering a uniform paint application with a consistently high-quality finish. The new GTi Pro may look like its GTi predecessor, but every single component has been replaced for optimum performance, and all aspects, from ergonomics through control and ease of cleaning, have been addressed and improved. Among notable mechanical function improvements is the “spool” design air valve, which now graduates the feed of air through the gun, making fade-outs and blend-ins infinitely more controllable and precise. Airflow through the gun has been smoothed and the fluid tips have been internally and externally re-profiled to significantly increase the fluid flows and make the same tip size suitable for a greater variance in viscosities. For the sprayer, this means simpler working practises with fewer set-up changes. The gun has chunkier, easy-grip controls that are simple to keep clean as well as being easier for gloved hands to operate. If your after info on spray guns it pretty easy.
The most popular type of gun is the gravity feed (Pot on top) its easier to use and get to hard to reach places. Suction feed guns (pot on bot) are an older style gun and is now more popular as a dedicated primer gun in most panel shops.
If a spray gun is kept clean it will last for a long time and spray perfectly.
We use a $120 gun for our free lessons once a month for the last 3 years.
When setting up a gun a good guide is at a hand span away from the gun, the fan should be a hand span. Wind all the knobs in and slowly adjust them out as you need to.
The difference between a $120 gun and a $800 gun is quality in parts, weight, brand name, refined parts and technology in the build quality. An $800 gun will spray better for alot longer then a cheaper gun. (the reason why pro's spend the doe)
HVLP High Volume Low Pressure a type of gun used in Europe to comply with their emissions laws.
Dont need that here in Australia.

(be careful soaking your gun in thinners it can damage the rubber seals in the gun)
